COMPUTER HELP (SOLVED)

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 24, 2010, 1:23 AM

OH MY GODDDDD

THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS ;_________; :heart:

I HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER TO BE ABLE TO OPEN PROGRAMS.

SRSLY YOU GUYS SAVED MY SORRY ASS I LOVE YOU

oh my god I want to cry

I was trying to manually clear out a spyware, and I think I screwed up something in the .exe registry --

I can't even do a system restore

I can't even do a registry edit

because it doesn't let me open ANY .exe files. I can write this journal because the browser was an exception because it opened via Help and Support, thank god.

"the file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel."

Okay, I found the Set Associations control panel, but... the trouble is, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO THERE ;________;

PLEASE, SOMEONE WITH COMPUTER EXPERTISE
HELP ME ;____;

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME WHILE I HAVE 6 PAPERS DUE T______________T

You can always reformat your computer yourself. Just shut down your system, and then start it back up. While its starting up it should display an option like "system recovery" and it will give you an 'F' key to press to go to the system recovery page. For me its F11, but F1, F2, and F10 are also common. If it doesn't say, it wont hurt to try all the F keys.

Speaking of things not hurting, don't be afraid of trying anything from that link I provided. It makes it sound kinda scary, but what do you have to lose at this point, right? You cant really make things much worse, and even if you do, like I said, you should be able to reformat anyway.

If you're lucky, you wont even have to lose all your personal files. My system recovery feature has a sort of non-invasive option that wont delete any user created files. It will only revert system vital files (like the registry) back to the factory default. Very handy for a situation like yours, I would imagine. :)

Good luck.

Sorry, I'm not an expert, but I've encountered something like that too.

My suggestion is, go to the nearest computer center (or computer store where you bought it) and ask them to re-format your windows. This will take about 1-2 days (depends on the technician) and your computer will back to normal. You have to install the programs all over again thought...^^;

It's better to leave it to the experts XD
