Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Japan earthquake/tsunami :(

I was at the Pacific Dental Conference when this happened, but man I was horrified to see the breaking news (lol TVs everywhere...). I feel anxious and sad for the families in Japan... even for the survivors, as they suffered a great loss in terms of livestock and it'll be difficult for them to get back up on their feet.

I pray the best for Japan's citizens.

The city where I live (Kobe) is pretty much safe, actually most of the Kinki area is fine. Still evacuation might be possible in case of tsunami, according to the news. A couple of my friends got affected in Tokyo and one of my friends here in Kobe didn't know about her parents until today...
It gives me chills just to think about how lucky we were in Kinki area... I can't even stand looking at the TV anymore... it's just such a big tragedy...

I couldn't take my eyes off the computer screen all day trying to spread help around;;

but then I heard about Japan not asking for Help and Red Cross isn't giving them the donated money yet until they ask for it or something; I heard Japan had an Emergency Plan set out for Earthquakes, but the Tsunami was... Just more troublesome...

Happy to see everyone being contacted by their love ones and friends in Japan though :'>
